Jockey is one of the oldest brands on the market with their history dating back to 1878. They started in the industry by selling woollen socks that were a hit in that day and age and sent their sales sky rocketing. Woollen socks were seen to be very popular with the lumberjack community as it stopped their foot pain. Staying ahead of the curve, Jockey invented the ‘Jockey Short’ and the ‘Jockey Y-front’ in early 1930s that they are still known for today.  The company trademarked both those underwear names and eventually started adding the name ‘Jockey’ into the waistbands; an innovative branding trick that many brands now carry on doing today! Who doesn’t love a simple branded trunk? In 1969 Jockey had previously designed inner garments for astronauts to wear on their trip to the moon. Not many brands can say they’ve held some astronaut’s bits in place even without gravity! In the 1970s, the brand officially changed their name to ‘Jockey International’ from S.T Cooper & Sons, as most of their customers new them as Jockey anyway. Today they remain thriving and keeping up with current trends and selling all over the world, delivering comfort all year round.

How Tradie started covering everyone’s bits

Tradie is an Aussie owned and designed brand and this Aussie brand has been around for almost a decade. They started off in men’s underwear to cater for men of all shapes and sizes, and many walks of life.  Tradie is a way of life, whether that be the “Aussie bloke” heading down to the pub for a Parma after a day on the tools or a businessman who works the desk job.
